Capt. Ross and crew were amazing. Despite less than perfect conditions they were able to put us on the fish both days. Ross and his crew were very friendly and know the area well. I have been deep sea fishing 3 other times in Mexico and this was by far the best of all my trips. I would recommend Capt. Ross and the Early Bird to anyone.

I have fished with Captain Ross and Early Bird several times. We have always caught a variety of fish- from meat fish to Sails (8 for 8 a few years back) using many different techniques (free-lining, deep drops, trolling and kiting) which keeps it interesting. I was on the dock when the crew on board pulled in with a 300# swordfish.

Captain Ross knows what he’s doing and can customize the trip for the competency of the anglers on board, and he’s great with kids. In fact, there have been several times where he’s climbed out of the chair while fishing just to teach the kids how to do it right.

We had a great time fishing with Captain Ross and first mate Mike. They did a fantastic job of spotting dolphin and trolling for black fin tuna. We had a successful day fishing with them! Definitely would go with them again when we come back to Islamorada.

Awesome experience with Ross and Mikey. Our goal was to bring home some food and they absolutely delivered. Didn’t catch any Mahi or Sailfish, but that didn’t make our trip any less awesome. Our friends told us their charter (unnamed) didn’t really catch all that much, but Ross and Mikey knew their stuff and put us on the fish. I would highly recommend this group of fishermen and will definitely be coming back in the future.

Our family had a great time with Capt Ross and Justin!! They did an excellent job scoping out the perfect spots to snag some fish we were interested in bring back home with us. Our daughter even snagged a 60+lb Sailfish which we took a picture of in the water and released. Very cool to see!! Highly recommend you book a trip.

Two day charter

Had a blast on the Early Bird. Captain Ross and his mate were hard fishermen, courteous , knowledgeable and professional. My brother ,a doctor, his son a lawyer, and head counsel for a major insurance company( not an easy crowd to please and satisfy) had a wonderful experience and caught lots of and a wide variety of fish. I highly recommend!

Early Bird fishing charter

My 20 year old son and I went fishing on the Early Bird with Captain Ross on January 4. I had limited fishing experience, and my son has fished quite a bit but mostly on lakes and rivers. Captain Ross and his mate listened to what we wanted to do, and tailored our charter to meet our needs. We caught nine fish, and thoroughly enjoyed the boat, the crew and a wonderful day on the ocean. The crew worked hard and hustled to provide us with the best experience possible. This fishing trip was the highlight of our trip to South Florida, as the Crimson Tide ran over our Fighting Irish a few days later. I recommend Early Bird charters to everyone.

Great fishing experience

I am a physician from the Atlanta area and recently visited the Keys. While there I went sail fishing on the EarlyBird a charter captained by " Captain Ross"

It was a true experience

The crew was knowledgeable and energetic .

I caught my first sail fish.

We also caught a variety of other game fish. What a trip.

I will go back and fish with Captain Ross on the EarlyBird.
